LAKE GENEVA’S ORIGINAL MAGIC & ILLUSION THEATRE THE CHALLENGE: To create something different. A Vegas-style magic showroom that would fit in with the small town charm of Lake Geneva. THE SOLUTION: Design an intimate and unique theatrical environment to house a big-city show. With 175 seats, everyone is close to the action. The Tristan Crist Magic Theatre was designed and built as the ultimate performance space to view a theatrical magic show. It seems impossible to be able to create deceptive illusions so close to the audience. This intimacy creates a performance experience that is unequaled.
E. Gary Gygax and his family lived in this home during the 1960s and 1970s. He was an avid wargamer and writer of rulesets and articles in many wargamer circles and publications. In 1974, Gygax and Arneson would co-author and publish the first copies of a game called “DUNGEONS & DRAGONS®” (DND). Tour the historic house and experience the creative energy that flowed throughout the birthplace of DND. Visit the basement where wargames were common and pay homage to the beginnings of fantasy gaming.
Take a whirl around the lakes. Walk the 21-mile shore path (in segments, of course) around Geneva Lake to see incredible architectural gems set off by equally incredible landscaping. Take a scenic boat cruise courtesy of Lake Geneva Cruise Line for a view of fall colors from another vantage point. There’s also the Lake Lawn Queen double-decker tour boat on Delavan Lake. Hike or bike or both. The Adventure Center at Grand Geneva Resort has miles of hiking and biking trails, and the same goes for Big Foot Beach State Park. Rent a cruiser or e-bike from Avant Cycle Café and ask for their route recommendations. Get your head in the clouds. Zip above the colorful tree canopy at Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures (bring your mountain bike too for a calorie burn on their hilly single-track trails). For a breathtaking view of the color kaleidoscope, book a hot air balloon flight at Lake Geneva Balloon Company.
*great lake views!* Oakfire opened in 2015 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, crafting Neapolitan pizzas in an old remodeled house-turned-diner, built in the 1850s. After 100,000 pizzas or so, Oakfire tore down the old building and built a new structure with two ovens and numerous seats overlooking Geneva Lake. Eight years later, Oakfire is proud to have an additional location in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Pizza is still at the heart of our menu, and each Neapolitan pizza is wood-fired at 1000 degrees in our imported Stefano Ferrara ovens. Our pies, along with the rest of our from-scratch menu options, are made with both locally sourced and imported Italian ingredients and served with our most important ingredient: Passion.
The magnificent Brute, at over 7,000 yards, is one of the most challenging layouts in the Midwest and is considered one of Wisconsin's best golf courses. Enhanced with 68 bunkers and huge rolling greens, averaging over 8,000 square feet, this par-72 golf course is perfectly manicured and immaculately maintained. The Highlands is a Scottish-inspired, links-style course, complete with a beautiful landscape of scenic hills, trickling creeks and lush foliage. It was originally designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, and transformed in 1996 by Bob Cupp. The Brute and The Highlands both offer four sets of tees to play from, making our experience more enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
