Mashamoquet Brook State Park spans 1,000 acres with hiking, fishing, and the famous Wolf Den. The Air Line State Park Trail offers peaceful biking and walking paths, while Pomfret and Rotary Parks feature riverside strolls, picnics, and art. The Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Pomfret hosts birding programs and scenic trails. Nearby, Wolf Den Preserve and Roseland Park invite wildlife watching, playground fun, or lakeside relaxation. Crystal Pond Park adds swimming, paddling, and disc golf.
