We met back in 2014 through our mutual friend and Mike's Notre Dame buddy/roommate Carlos. While there was a definite spark, neither of us had the courage to make our feelings known. For the next few years, Aimee was focused on beginning her doctorate and Mike was building his career as an accountant. Little did we know that this friendship would be the foundation for something much greater down the road.
In 2018, we "ran into each other" on a dating app and we were excited to catch up over drinks. We had a lot to catch up on after all of those years! After weeks of getting together for friendly drinks, we both realized there was more than just a spark between us. This was our second chance at love.
After over 2 years of dating over short and long distances, we got engaged! We were so excited to start our lives together as a married couple. We planned an intimate wedding to celebrate the joining of our two families and our life long commitment to each other. We were wed in Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, the same church that Mike's grandparents and Aimee's parents were married. The Waldorf Astoria was the perfect place to share our first dance, toasts, and our first meal as a married couple. When it is safe, we look forward to celebrating with all of our family and friends!
Mike moved to Minnesota! He is transferring to Grant Thorton's Minneapolis office to join Aimee while she continues her fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. We will move into a rental home in August!
