How they met: Can you believe a blind date was actually how Mike and Abby met?! Big shoutout goes to Lisa Hoemberg for setting them up :) Mike and Abby had been talking on the phone and texting for a few weeks before they went on their first date in Alexandria. Mike drove to Staples two days later for their second date and the rest is history. Mike and Abby now live in Staples on their farm with all their animals. Engagement Story: Abby had been dropping hints (not subtle at times) about starting their future together by sending Mike ring pictures that she would like. Without Abby knowing Mike went to the jewelry store and purchased Abby's engagement ring. The same night Mike proposed he called Abby's father for his permission (Abby's dad can never keep a secret!). Mike and Abby were working in the barn and Abby went out to make a trench for the water at the front of the barn, which ended up being 20 minutes at least for Mike to wait on his knee with the ring in her horses pen. When Abby came back in the barn Mike called her to the pen and said the horse had stepped on his foot. At this time Abby had no idea he was down on one knee! When she went to look at his foot Mike pulled out the ring and asked her to marry him!
