Our story started with a quick silly introduction that eventually turned into one of our biggest blessings. It’s not every day that you meet your future spouse in Walmart. We met on the very first day of moving into college our freshman year. My dad takes full credit for our relationship; he and Aslyn thought it would be a good idea to introduce me to random people at Walmart that we saw wearing SEU shirts (Aslyn was really scoping out the boys for me). As we were walking down an aisle, we see Noah’s family and my dad goes up to them to make a quick introduction. There was nothing to it and I just thought I met someone that I probably wouldn’t talk to or see again. My goal was to focus on God and school, not boys. The next day, I met a friend for lunch and when I got there, there was a group of girls and a group of guys. Coincidentally, Noah was there with the group of guys. We didn’t start to get to know each other until Monday, three days after we first met. We quickly became friends and hung out all the time with our friend group. We also quickly realized we liked each other. Noah told me that he liked me after a week of being at SEU, but we still remained friends for the meantime. Three weeks go by, and we came to realize after lots of prayer that waiting to date and just being friends was pointless. So, Noah asked me to be his girlfriend on September 13th, 2022. That’s how our story started. We both adore each other and knew that our end goal would be marriage. We have talked about marriage many times throughout our relationship, but we didn't know when the best time would be. We prayed about it and just waited. Then God made a clear path for us, and Noah proposed to me on September 13, 2023, our 1-year anniversary! Noah surprised me with a trip to Universal Studios where we spent the morning celebrating our 1-year anniversary. Then later that night, he took me on a sunset picnic at the beach. It was beautiful, there was no one around, just us two. He had set up the camera and I thought we were going to take pictures. He told me to close my eyes, that he had a gift for me. After a few minutes, he told me to open my eyes and the first thing I see is the ring and then he said, “Mikayla, will you marry me?”. If you couldn’t tell, I said yes! This was the happiest day of our lives. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him and continue growing our story! We hope you enjoy our story and our wedding website. We can't wait to celebrate our wedding day with you!
