(Approx. 33 miles north) Take a scenic drive that take approximately 35 to 45 minutes. Since the trailhead is about a mile south of the Canadian border, it's about as far north as you can go in Idaho! This 1.4-mile round trip hike leads to a stunning 150-foot waterfall. It's a relatively flat, well-maintained path, making it perfect for a morning stroll or a family friendly adventure. *Since the trailhead is close to the Canadian border, cell service can be spotty or flip to international roaming.*
(Approx 45-minutes South) If you have a little extra time, we highly recommend spending an afternoon in Sandpoint. (Approx 45 miles East) If you have a few hours to spare, this is a must-see! Located just across the border into Montana, Kootenai Falls is one of the largest undammed waterfalls in the Northwest. It's a short but moderate hike (about 1.5 miles round trip) to see both the falls and the bridge. The bridge is for the brave of heart, it hangs 100 feet above the roaring river, but the views from the middle are unbeatable. *The trail does include a railroad overpass with a staircase of about 70 metal grate steps*
(Approx. 45 minutes southwest) For a two-for-one waterfall experience, head over to Snow Creek Falls. This 1.5-mile round trip hike features a well-maintained path that leads to two distinct waterfalls: the Upper and Lower Falls. The trail descends though a beautiful forest, with benches along the way for anyone who wants to sit back and listen to the rushing water. When you reach the "Y" in the trail, head left to see the Lower Falls or take a right to see the Upper falls. Some parts are downhill but remember it will be a slight incline on the way back! *The road to Snow Creek is gravel and can be a bit "wash boarded" but should be perfectly fine for standard cars.*
