Justin and Mikayla’s story began when they were just 16 years old, both working at McDonald’s. Justin would sneak glances whenever he could, and Mikayla would pretend not to notice—despite having a huge crush on him. But she never planned on doing anything about it. After all, those are the best kinds of crushes… right? So how did they get here? Almost ten years later, about to get married?! Thanks to mutual friends, Justin and Mikayla stayed in the same orbit and slowly got to know each other—first as friends… friends who flirted (a lot). While Mikayla was busy pushing Justin away every time he showed interest, Justin was quietly playing the long game. He focused on building trust, strengthening their friendship, and—without Mikayla even realizing it—making her fall completely head over heels for him. Some of their favorite memories came from “car dates,” grabbing food and just talking. They talked about their days, their dreams, their future, and what life would look like once they finally moved out of their parents’ houses. Those simple moments meant everything. At the end of 2020, their friendship officially turned into something more. Not long after, they started building a life together and realized forever sounded pretty good—beginning with a place of their own. In 2025 Justin popped the question—and Mikayla’s answer to both dating and marriage was the same: “DUH!” The rest is history, and they couldn’t be more excited to begin this next chapter of their lives together.
