We met during nursing school in an elective statistics class. After months of studying together, we decided to go out on an official date where we quickly hit it off...and the rest is history!

The best day of our lives finally came on a rainy Saturday at the end of April 2019. We decided to take a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine, to celebrate the end of a hectic semester. As soon as we got there, Dan told me to get ready because we were going out to a fancy restaurant for dinner. We drove for about 14 minutes before pulling into a random parking lot of a closed business. He told me, “I just want to show you this cool spot that my coworker told me about before we go to dinner.” I reluctantly walked out into the cold, shivering under the wet skies, trying not to fall as I ventured over the gravel with my heels. We made our way down to the edge of a pond overlooking the mountains with breathtaking views; that’s when he whispered in my ear. I turned around, and there was Dan - down on one knee, holding my great Aunt’s old family ring inside the original box, with a photographer standing right behind him! #Danika
