Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 1st, using the RSVP tab in the menu. If you do not RSVP in time, we will assume that you are unable to attend.

Question

When does the ceremony start?

Answer

This is a Catholic full mass ceremony and will promptly start at 2 P.M. Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to the ceremony to allow time for parking and finding your seat.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?

Answer

No. The ceremony will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church in Hiawatha, IA. The reception will be held at The Harmac in downtown Cedar Rapids. They are about an 11 minute drive from each other. See the "Things To Do" tab for places to go between the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

To allow all our guests the opportunity to let their hair down and enjoy themselves, we've elected to make our wedding a child-free event. Please be understanding that we can only accommodate children of immediate family for our wedding day. Invitations will be specific and will include the names of the children who are invited. We will however happily accommodate breastfeeding babies, please let us know if you need this accommodation. We hope you can still join us to celebrate.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. We respectfully request our guests to not wear jeans or shorts. For men, ties are preferred and jackets are optional. For women, midi and long dresses are encouraged. We are also encouraging our guests to wear jewel tones or some form of neutral color (black, navy, grey, etc.) to go along with our wedding color palette, if able.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding and please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church has a large parking lot that will be able to accommodate all of our guests. There are 90 parking spaces for our guests at The Harmac, if you plan to drive to the reception. If you book a room at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, there will be a shuttle from the hotel to reception and back.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions so that we can relay them to our caterer.

Question

Will there be air conditioning?

Answer

Yes, both the church and venue are air conditioned!

Question

What do I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be dearly missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "not attending" so we can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins, we ask that all phones be put away and silenced. We want everyone to be fully present with us and for our photographer to be able to capture the best pictures which we will share with you. Once the ceremony is over feel free to take as many pictures as you'd like and don't forget to share them with us!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be indoors.

For all the days along the way
