It's finally Happening!

We met the way many modern love stories begin, on a dating app. We were just 18 and 19 at the time, Cam barely out of high school and Mikayla about to graduate, with no expectations and everything ahead of us. It was one of those “let’s just see what happens” kind of moments. Neither of us was looking for anything serious, but from the moment we started talking, something just *clicked*. What started as a few casual messages quickly turned into hours-long conversations, late-night laughs, and the unmistakable feeling that we’d stumbled onto something really special. After a few weeks of nonstop chatting, we decided to meet in person. And in true us-fashion, we skipped the usual dinner date and went straight for full chaos. Our first date was at Sky Zone, a trampoline park. It was spontaneous, silly, and surprisingly perfect. We spent the evening literally bouncing off the walls, laughing nonstop, and somehow bypassing all the first-date awkwardness. It felt like we’d known each other for years. And yes, Cameron talked Mikayla’s ear off that first day (who would’ve guessed?). Not long after that first date, Cameron met Mikayla’s rescue dog, Fletcher. Fletcher was normally wary of men, but the moment he saw Cameron, he ran right up and jumped on him without a second thought. No hesitation, no fear, just instant trust. That moment kind of said it all. Over the years, we’ve grown up side by side. Through college, new jobs, and all the unexpected turns of early adulthood. Along the way, our little family grew when we adopted our second dog, Kira. Together, Fletcher and Kira bring so much love, chaos, and tail wags to our lives, and we honestly can’t imagine home without them. Our relationship has been built on friendship, trust, and the kind of love that feels both grounding and full of adventure. We’ve weathered life’s challenges, celebrated the wins, and created a space that feels like *us*. Messy, warm, joyful, and filled with snacks, laughter, and a ridiculous number of throw blankets. Cameron proposed during what Mikayla thought was just another couples photo shoot, a casual day in front of the camera, like we’d done before. But this time was different. Midway through, Cameron got down on one knee and asked the question that turned a regular evening into the most beautiful surprise of her life. It was emotional, joyful, and the easiest “yes” she’s ever said. Now, nearly a decade after that trampoline date, we’re getting ready to say “I do.” We’re so grateful for all the people who’ve supported us, loved us, and grown with us over the years.
