Things To Do
Pelourinho
- Casa do Carnaval da Bahia (Carnaval Museum) - Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado (Author Jorge Amado's Foundation/Museum) - Largo do Pelourinho (Top of colorful houses) - Igreja e Convento de São Francisco (Gold Church) - O Cravinho (Liquor of Bahia) - A Cubana (Ice cream) Big tourist destination. There are a lot of peddlers, so be wary (avoid eye-contact for the part, or they'll talk your ear off and try to sell you things).
Barra
- Praia do Farol da Barra (Barra Lighthouse Beach) - Praia do Porto da Barra (nice beach also, next to Barra Lighthouse Beach) - Farol da Barra (Barra Lighthouse) - BVegan (Vegan Burger Place) - Coxinha do Gago (Brazilian popular fried food) Barra is a pretty nice touristy area, it has a nice mall (Shopping Barra)
Rio Vermelho
- A Casa do Rio Vermelho (Jorge Amado's House - very beautiful) - Acaraje da Dinha - (Food stand) - Dona Mariquita (Restaurant, Bahian Food) Shanti Restaurante (Restaurant, has vegan options) - Manjericão Restaurante Natural (Vegan Restaurant/Dishes) - Acaraje da Cira (Food stand) - Praia do Buracão (Buracão Beach, kinda hidden but nice) Rio Vermelho is considered the Bohemian area of the city. Lots of nightlife, bars open, etc.
Cidade Baixa
- Igreja do Bomfim (Bomfim Church - make wishes and tie ribbons on the gate) - Forte do Monte de Serrat (Monte de Serrat Fort) - Sorveteria da Ribeira (Oldest standing and most famous ice cream shop in the city) Oldest part of the city. It's pretty different from the Upper part of the city.
Centro
- Mercado Modelo (Place to buy souveniers) - Cidade da Música da Bahia (Music Museum of Bahia) - Elevador Lacerda (Separate the lower city from the upper city- Takes you to Pelourinho) Center of the city. Lots of commerce, but not the best place to go to at night.
Santo Antônio Além do Carmo
- Rango Vegan (Vegan Restaurant, menu changes weekly - really good) - Padoca do Carmo (Cute coffee shop) - Zumví Arquivo Afro Fotográfico (Gallery) - Museu do Mar Aleixo Belov (Sea Museum)
Pituba
- Parque da Cidade (City Park) - RaVegana (Dessert Shop) - BVegan (Vegan Burger Place) - Ki-Mukeka (Traditional Bahian Food Restaurante)
