Somehow, despite growing up in the same small town, their paths didn’t cross until a simple game of cribbage brought them together. Not long after, a Snapchat add confirmed there might be something there. Their first dates were simple: long walks through the Stevens Point Sculpture Park, talking about everything and nothing. After their first Valentine’s Day together, they both knew this was something special. Over the past eight years, they’ve built a life around the things they love most — searching for rocks along the shores of Lake Superior, bird hunting in the fall, and gardening side by side. They are best friends and soulmates, happiest when they’re outdoors together with their dog, Cooper. After seven years, Jack popped the question in South Dakota along the Missouri River. It was perfect — just the two of them, a couple of their closest friends, and of course Cooper. Now they’re coming full circle, getting married at the North Lakeland Discovery Center in their hometown — the perfect place to begin this next chapter. And although Jack likes to joke that the wedding is the “finish line,” they both know it’s only the beginning.
