Our Story

From Curious Glances to Forever

Our story began quietly- at a mutual friend's birthday party in June of 2020. We didn't speak much that night, just exchanged curious glances across the room. But even in the middle of small talk and birthday cake, something stirred in both of us. We didn't know it yet, but the most meaningful chapter of our lives had just begun. After being sweet friends for a few years, Nathan asked me to be his girlfriend at Coffee Undergound in Downtown Greenville but it was the late night detour to the GSP airport lookout that neither of us will forget. We sat under the stars, a little unsure of what to say or do, but surrounded by a sense that something special was unfolding. One foggy summer afternoon, we found ourselves slow dancing in the river, with the mist wrapped around us like something out of a dream. There were no words for how we felt- only the certainty that this moment, right here, meant something. It marked the quiet beginning of forever. We built our relationship on the rhythm of intentionality and celebration. Every month, we marked our anniversary often by heading to the beach. We'd set up our phone to record videos of us slow dancing. These quiet moments- salt in the air, waves at our feet, are woven into the fabric of our story. And then came Charleston. For our one-year Anniversary, we returned to White Point Gardens, one of our favorite spots. Nathan suggest recording a dance like we always did, and afterward I asked him what his favorite memory from the past year had been. He smiled, mentioned a few, then said "Or maybe this moment right now." That's when he knelt down, pulled a ring from the same bag we used to set up our video and asked me to be his wife. With tear filled eyes, of course, I said yes. Looking ahead, we're most excited about what we get to build together, not just a life but a purpose. We believe our love is about more than just us. It's about serving, growing and advancing the kingdom of God together, as partners, as best friends, as husband and wife. This is the beginning of our forever, and we're so thankful you're a part of our story. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." Mark 10:9
