As nervous and excited new dancers to Los Angeles, we could not comprehend that we were about to have our first rehearsal for the remake of Dirty Dancing. THIS. WAS. EVERYTHING. Walking into the gorgeous Hollywood Athletic Club, which was our rehearsal space for the next couple months, we noticed that all the dancers' head shots were paired up side by side on the wall. In a cast of 20, the brilliant Kenny Ortega decided to pair us together. We now joke that he knew exactly what he was doing :) When the movie fell through just a week into rehearsals, experiencing that loss together is what deepened our friendship.

Christian, being the thoughtful and creative man he is, decided to bring our story full circle. What I thought was going to be a little errands-and-date day ended up being the most magical day of my life. He knew that if we drove by the Hollywood Athletic Club I would for sure point it out and reminisce on how we met. Well... he was right. We then decide to go check it out. Somehow the manager of the property "happened to be there" and let us look around. As we made our way to the biggest room where rehearsals took place, I became emotional but still clueless as to what was about to happen. Christian said we had to dance, and he put on one of our favorite Otis Redding songs. Slow dancing with him in that space brought back so many memories. He began to beautifully articulate his love for me and proceeded to get down on one knee. I said yes through my tears, and he turned me around to see that Kenny Ortega was there with an enormous bouquet of my favorite flowers. It was an extraordinary, full circle moment.
