We recommend flying into SeaTac as it is the more economical option compared to Bellingham International Airport. Feel free to check out both options!

The airport in Bellingham is smaller than SeaTac (i.e. faster security lines) and is closer to Anacortes than Seattle. Their flights can be more expensive.

San Juan Airlines offers scheduled and chartered flights to Friday Harbor. From Bellingham Airport to Friday Harbor: scheduled flights for $96/person or chartered for as low as $80/person with 5 people. From Seattle (Boeing Field) to Friday Harbor: chartered for $137/person with 5 people.

Offers flights between Seattle (Boeing Field) and Friday Harbor for ~$160 each direction.

Nonstop Shuttle/Ferry Combo from SeaTac to San Juan Island

Open Monday-Friday with reservations. Departing SeaTac airport once each scheduled day 11:00 a.m. depending on Ferry schedule and arriving in Friday Harbor between 3:15 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Departing Friday Harbor once each scheduled day at approximately 5:55 a.m arriving at SeaTac airport approximately 09:30a.m. $59.99 for Friday Harbor to SeaTac airport and $67.00 for SeaTac airport to Friday Harbor. Price includes ferry fare.

Shuttle from SeaTac to Anacortes Ferry Terminal

Check out this shuttle that runs all day between SeaTac and Anacortes Ferry Terminal. This shuttle also has pick-up sites at the Seattle Light Rail and Convention Center if you choose to stay a night in Seattle before traveling to the island. Reservations are required. Tickets are $46 each way or $85 round trip. The trip takes about 3 hours (given several stops along the way).

SeaTac Rental Car Facility

Several rental car facilities operate out of this location. If you rent a car, you can either park it at Anacortes Ferry Terminal and walk on the ferry OR drive on the ferry to have it with you on the island. If you decide to take it with you, remember that you absolutely need to make a ferry reservation in advance.

The ferry to Friday Harbor/San Juan Island leaves out of Anacortes, Washington ( 2100 Ferry Terminal Rd), which is about a 1.5-2 hour long drive from Seattle. Ride an old fashion, authentic trolley around the island for $10 (one price, all day). Enjoy the Hop on/Hop off feature for the entire day of your ticket is valid. Runs between 10:00 AM-7:00 PM, 7 days a week.
