Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

We would recommend renting one of the Las Gaviotas rental homes. It is a very safe gated community with a private beach, pools, tennis court. Go to this website for rental details. http://las-gaviotas.com/houses-rates/ We also recommend: Las Rocas Resort and Spa Rosarito Beach Hotel

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! When crossing the border back and forth between Baja and San Diego, you’ll need to have a valid passport or other acceptable identification handy. When entering the United States, U.S. citizens are required to show passport, U.S. passport card, Trusted Traveler Program card (NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry or FAST) or an Enhanced Driver's License. Resident aliens must possess a green card. Knowing which ID to bring depends upon your method of travel (air, land, or sea). Voter's registration card, military ID, driver's license and social security cards are not considered valid forms of citizenship identification. https://www.sandiego.org/articles/baja-california/documentation-you-need-to-cross-the-usmexico-border.aspx

Question

What if my car insurance does not cover me in Mexico?

Answer

We recommend you buy Mexican insurance before you cross the border into Mexico! This is available at several locations shortly before you get to the border, but it’s easier to buy the insurance online. https://www.bajabound.com/?r=lasgaviotas
