Laura and Miguel met at a party for Miguel's birthday, at his floating house ... aboard the Cabo San Palos! Miguel was concerned, thinking that Laura had too much to drink, because she kept falling asleep on the top deck, alone. Little did he know, Laura was working nights, going to school, and not very excited to go out that night, but Barbara had guilted her into going, "I told Leo I was going to take a hot friend, so you need to come!" Miguel initiated the conversation, initially concerned, then wanting to keep her awake and enjoying the party, and eventually they were just getting to know each other. The night eventually would see them dancing to classic "Rock en Espanol" songs, the only two dancing in the crowded room. Laura was impressed that Miguel didn't care that no one else was dancing and thought that this could be the beginning of something magical. They continued to chat all night. When the night was finally over, Miguel asked Laura if he could invite her out, and whether she'd "like to go out for coffee or dinner?" Her reply, was "Yes ... both!" A few days later they had their first official date, at Perch in downtown LA. Long story short, the date was scheduled for 3 hours maximum, as Laura was working the night shift straight afterward, but it went on much longer. Laura was over an hour late to work, and there would be many, many more dates to come ...
