FAQs

Question

It’s my first international trip. What do I need?

Answer

A passport and remember to arrive to the airport at least 3 hours early. For your passport, check the expiration date because you need 6 months left after your end travel date.

Question

Should I get Euros?

Answer

A lot of places will take a card, but it is always a good idea to have a little cash on hand. Check with your bank to see if they can order it for you. Also, make sure to let your bank know that you will be traveling outside the country.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

You can fly into Barcelona, which is airport code BCN. From there, you will need to rent a car to get out to the wedding venue, which is approximately 90 minutes north of the city.

Question

Where should I look to book flights?

Answer

Kayak and Skyscanner allow you to look at multiple carriers at one time. It allows you to customize the take off/land times, construct multi-leg trips, and select number of stops. Check out multiple days for possible travel. Norwegian Airlines is a discount flyer that makes trips only on certain days. Look at the company site first to see the fare calendar. This will give you an idea of what days they fly and when it’s the cheapest. We suggest that if you are going to book inter-Europe flights to explore additional places before/after the wedding, book those separate. Budget airlines like EasyJet and RyanAir are cheap to fly. For example, the flight from Paris to Barcelona is about $60. These are no frills airlines, so keep that in mind.

Question

Do I need an international driver’s license to drive in Spain?

Answer

For Spain, no. All you need is a valid US driver’s license and your passport. However, if you are going to drive into another country the conditions may be different.

Question

What is in/near Barcelona?

Answer

Barcelona and the surrounding area is a great place to explore. Head over to the “Things to Do” tab to find some of our recommendations.

Question

What is the weather like in September?

Answer

It should be gorgeous! The highs are in the upper 70s (78 average) and lows in the upper 60s. Pack a jacket or sweater for the evenings. Also, make sure to bring a swimsuit if you want to enjoy the pool/hot tub the day after the wedding.

Question

I got a flat tire on my rental car, what do I do?

Answer

Lock your doors and don't accept help! HAHA! In Spain, your rental car will have a reflective vest that must be worn while changing a tire. Make sure the doors of your vehicle are locked, especially while in the city to ensure the security of your belongings. If not, we can direct you to the Consulate. We are very familiar with where it is located and can even give you a dining recommendation nearby.

Question

I want to turn this into a vacation. Any suggestions?

Answer

We want everyone to make the most of their time in Europe. The possibilities are endless of where you can go next. Literally. Inter-Europe flights are cheap and the train system is extensive. Heading off to another country is quite easy. Check out the "Things to Do" page for ideas that are in the immediate area.
