Everything happens for a reason. God has blessed us both by bringing two unlikely souls together in the most precarious of places... School. If you asked some of our closest friends, they would say we first met in nursing school, and our love blossomed from there. However, they would be wrong, as Brooke and I shared two classes back in community college. We shared organic chemistry and statistics while working toward our nursing career, but we never spoke a word to one another. For a year and a half, we had been a part of each other's lives, and we didn't even know it yet. Once we completed those classes, that was the last we ever saw of each other until God brought us together almost two years later. Then began a series of events that would cement the everlasting love and bond the two of us will share until the end of our days. Depending on who you ask, Brooke and I will have our own unique story on the first time they interacted (almost two years later, unbeknownst to them). If you ask me (Miguel), I met her on their first clinical rotation at a hospital, where we were paired up with the same nurse to shadow for the day, and when alone getting ice for a patient together I said "I'm scared of you" and walked away without speaking to Brooke for the rest of the day. Being a quiet person, I made it a goal to only focus on school and not make friends through my time in the nursing program, and as you all may know, Brooke is very good at making friends. Now if you ask Brooke, she will say that I opened the door for her on the first day of school and her first impression of me was that I was a "douchebag" and "stuck-up" because I was wearing shades indoors. On top of that, after I subsequently opened her door I referred to her as "ma'am." Ahhh... what a way to start our own love story. Trauma here and trauma bonding there, over the stress that was nursing school Brooke and I spent more and more time with one another. Starting as strangers, then friends, and a year later we became inseparable. Later this upcoming year on 11/11/25 you all will be invited to be part of the start of Brooke and I's happily ever after. Thank you all for supporting and loving us both, and most importantly we are both so excited to start our lives as husband and wife.
