Chris and Marissa met the modern way — with a right swipe on Bumble. After about a month of Marissa being notoriously flaky with texting, they finally made plans to meet in person. Chris picked the bar, Papillon, perfectly situated between their two offices in Midtown Manhattan — just three avenues apart. At the time, neither of them knew Papillon was actually one of the largest architecturally significant zoning holdouts in NYC — a fun fact Marissa learned months later from a client and instantly loved. That first date was filled with nonstop laughs, check-in calls from their parents, and a now infamous Bud Light tower. The connection was instant, the conversation was easy — and the rest, as they say, was history.
