Although John and Mieha first met in their early 20's, there was a red string connecting them thereafter that seemed to draw them together. It was not until Mieha had met John's sister Katie, that their fate would come to be sealed. The two found themselves living as roommates in Katie and Jacob's house. After they both moved back to Alaska from out-of-state adventures, their friendship quickly grew and they both just 'got each other.' It was not until Mieha had moved out that she came to visit the Purrington Casa and asked John to go on a Friend Date with her; a darkly-lit Speakeasy preluding a Glamorous night on the town. John agreed, and took control of the friend date with a kiss. The change was a shock and made perfect sense as their lips touched. A duo to perfect not to end up together!

On Christmas Day, 2016, after a day of feast and mirth with family and friends, the two laid down for a much-deserved night of sleep. Drifting off, the last thing on John's mind drifted out of his mouth without any hesitation: "Will you marry me?" "Yes!" With a smile from ear to ear, Mieha kissed John hard on the lips and made both their dreams come true.
