Visit this place to get an idea of a proper Swedish midsummer celebration! It will take place on June 20 from 13:00 to 15:30. You will need Swish to pay, though—ask someone who lives in Sweden to help you with this.
Skulptur i Pilane
Pilane is nature’s art gallery, eight hectares of a beautiful cultural landscape where you can roam in the open. See the iconic work Anna by Jaume Plensa, meet grazing sheep, wander across burial grounds thousands of years old, and experience art, history, and panoramic sea views.
Nordic Watercolor Museum
Here, you can experience contemporary watercolour art, be inspired by the unique surroundings, and take part in exciting activities for all ages – all year round. 2025 is also the year when The Nordic Watercolour Museum celebrates 25 years as a vibrant meeting place for art, culture, and creativity.
Tjörn Hiking trails
Tjörn offers many beautiful trails for hiking through diverse landscapes. Walk across islands, to scenic viewpoints, through beech forests, and along winding paths.
Salt & Sill
One of the most well-known eateries on the West Coast. They serve traditional Swedish food from the West Coast, including shrimp sandwiches, pickled herring, and caviar.
Moriks Fårgård
Moriks Fårgård is a very cosy little farm shop and café that only opens during summer. It is a real hidden gem, nestled into the countryside between Klädesholmen and Tjörn. The café serves homemade pastries, and the farm shop offers everything from farm produce to locally designed ceramics and homewares.
Café och restaurang - Margaretas kök och skafferi
Margaretas Kök och Skafferi is the café in the old Sundsby Säteri. There is a beautiful outdoor garden and a cosy indoor dining area. The café serves traditional Swedish dishes and is a great lunch stop along the road or after hiking the Sundsbyleden.
Lekanders Bär & Boende
A summertime favourite of mine on the West Coast is berry picking. Throughout the summer, Lekanders Bär & Boende has strawberries, raspberries, and black currants available for self-picking. You can find more information about the dates they are open and their selection on their Facebook page.
