The Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, lovingly known as “The Nabe”, has served the San Francisco community since 1907 and has called this beautiful Julia Morgan building home since 1922. Today, the organization continues its mission through programs that support children, families, and seniors throughout Potrero Hill.
For Natalie, The Nabe is more than a venue. It is part of her family history. Her grandmother, Ruth Passen, worked collaboratively with longtime Executive Director Enola Maxwell at The Nabe for many years, while also helping document and celebrate neighborhood life through The Potrero View newspaper.
The building also holds a special family connection: Natalie’s parents were married here in 1989.
For Ben and Natalie, choosing The Nabe felt less like finding a venue and more like continuing a story- one rooted in San Francisco, family history, community, and the generations of people who have gathered here before them.
