Things To Do

Charleston is full of southern charm and some of the best food around! Here are a few of our favorite things to do when we are back here visiting with family!

Kaminsky's Desserts

78 North Market Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 853-8270

Chris and I love to come to Kaminsky's and get a dessert and coffee! Their display case changes daily and will satisfy any sweet tooth.

The Gin Joint

182 East Bay Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 577-6111

Are you looking for a craft cocktail made with fancy ice cubes and fresh herbs? Then this small little bar is the place for you to try! We stop by and enjoy a cocktail whenever we have the chance.

High Cotton Charleston Restaurant

199 East Bay Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 724-3815

The best shrimp and grits in my opinion! Southern cuisine with live jazz music nightly. A Kamenicky family favorite!

Husk

76 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 577-2500

Located in a charming old house on Queen Street. All of the food is excellent and sourced from local and/or small farms. Chris and I have dined here several times and it has not disappointed. Make a reservation early though - it can book up months in advance!

The Market

Market Street, Charleston, SC, SC

Stroll the open air market to find locally made art, crafts, jewelry and foods! When we visit we love to get stone ground grits, benne seed wafers, fresh ground bulk coffee, sterling silver jewelry and art.

Poogan's Porch

72 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 577-2337

Cute restaurant in an old house on Queen Street. Named after an old family dog named Poogan.

Blossom

171 East Bay Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 722-9200

Located downtown, another one of our local favorites. Nice for dinner; seafood and southern cuisine. Also try Magnolia's next door - their sister restaurant.
