We met as classmates in War and American Society at Science Hill Highschool. The first day I ever entered that class, I laid my eyes on the most handsome boy that I had ever seen. I was never one to speak up in school, especially when it came time for a group project. Zeke insisted that we be partners, and I was too stunned to speak. How could this boy have any interest in me? We exchanged some words and eventually social media information. He slyly asked the little friend group we had developed that year for their accounts first so that it wasn’t super obvious he was in to me. We talked all day, and all night, like a typical highschool couple did except we never stopped talking. One day, he came to stay the night with me, and never stopped. We knew that we were meant for each other. The rest is history from there.
Zeke is never one for all of the Christmas festivities, but he puts up with it for my happiness. I talked him in to going to Bristol Speedway in Lights as he had never been. We had a wonderful time seeing all the lights and listening to the cringy Christmas music they were playing because we were together. I noticed about half way through the lights, he grew more quiet. Come to find out he was practicing his lines in his head, thinking over and over about how to make this perfect. We finally reached the Christmas Village. I couldn’t wait for the hot chocolate and some s’mores so I was ready to head in. He began to pull out a little piece of paper from the same sketch book that he used when we first met and before I knew it he asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! With all of the Christmas lights, it could not have been better. Now I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
