The Wedding Website of Micky Jones and Brandy Folks
If you have a question regarding the wedding, it is probably answered below. This website will be updated continuously so PLEASE check each of the pages for what you need. If you can't find the answer to your question, ask a member of the bridal party - they will be able to help or can find out!
Question

Where is parking for the ceremony /reception?

Answer

Parking at the museum (near the building) will go quickly. Please save that parking for our elderly and disabled guests. If you can, please use the gravel parking lot down the street, near the corner that is marked by signs and arrows. If you are willing and able to walk a block, please do so. If you drive/ride with others, you can also drop off people off at the museum and then park at the overflow gravel lot. There are no parking attendants - please lock your car.

Question

May I bring a plus one?

Answer

No. Nope. We have the exact number of seats for those who have RSVP'd. Do not bring a plus one unless it's on your invitation or it's indicated on your RSVP page. We wish we could invite everyone in the world to this celebration of our love but our venue has a strict guest limit and we're looking forward to an intimate night with some of our closest beloveds.

Question

Can I bring my child/children?

Answer

No. This is a child-free wedding, other than the Brides' children (and all but one are grown “children”). We LOVE kids, but this is a night for the grown folks! Treat yourself (and the kids) to a good babysitter and have a grown up night out! Come dance, eat, drink and celebrate with us!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

6:00 PM Eastern Time. PLEASE COME EARLY! Give yourself enough time to park and find your seat. We recommend that you arrive around 6 pm. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM SHARP. We suggest you arrive between 6 and 6:15 pm to enjoy some pre-ceremony snacks and surprises and then find your table for the ceremony.

Question

Are we really going to be in a museum?

Answer

YES! We will be in a REAL museum with rare, beautiful and historic vehicles. Some of the cars are ONE OF A KIND. A museum guide will be present the entire evening to answer questions and explain exhibits. Please, be curious and engage! Your questions are welcome. We just ask that you follow all the directions and cautions, please DO NOT TOUCH and keep food, drink and dancing in designated areas.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Look good, feel good! Dress up for the celebration this is but know the playlist will be fire and you WILL want to dance! We will have a photo booth and a professional photographer during the celebration, so we suggest you wear what makes you feel good because we want lots of pictures with everyone we love! We want to see your personal style so come as your best self!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

ABSOLUTELY. Please make your request with your RSVP. Our food truck, The Mean Weenie has vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options but we do need to know before the wedding if you have any dietary issues that require special attention.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

YES! See the TRANSPORTATION section for hotel information. We have a block of hotel rooms in Pontiac that will give you an affordable rate. Detroit metro area also has a lot of really fun boutique and upscale hotels. If you'd like to stay in Detroit, just make sure you plan enough time to make it to the ceremony on time.
