After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding to September 18, 2021. This was a tough decision but not nearly as tough as the idea of putting our loved ones at risk. Safety and regulations are changing often which creates much uncertainty of what September will look like. Ultimately, we cannot imagine celebrating our wedding day without all of our friends and family. This means you have an extra year to practice your dance moves; let’s celebrate bigger next year! Until then, stay safe, happy, and healthy! We are sending our love and prayers to you.
They met at Milwaukee Brewing Company! Micki went on the MKE brewing tour with her best friend Maredithe before moving to Denver in a month. Brandon was moving his cousin Sara into her Chicago apartment that day and spontaneously joined some buddies on the tour last minute. Brandon worked up the courage to ask the 'cute blonde in a romper' to take a photo of him with his friends to spark conversation.
They met for beer and wings at Leff's Luckytown in Tosa the following week, which easily became three hours of constant conversation. Over the next three weeks, they hung out a few more times-- sharing a mutual love for bloody mary's at Café Hollander, watching the Packers, and walking around the city. Micki moved to Denver early October 2017, and over her first year in Colorado, Micki and Brandon kept in touch. Brandon traveled the west coast often for work, so he was able to occasionally tack on a weekend in Denver. They made it official on January 20, 2018 while Brandon was visiting Micki. Brandon loved Colorado's sunny weather and active lifestyle, so he traded Wisconsin's lakes for the Rocky Mountains by moving to Denver in September 2018.
Brandon proposed to Micki on a hike in Boulder, Colorado. Alongside a stream towards the end of the hike awaited a blanket with flowers and champagne. Micki's friends Kaitlin and Abby were hiding in the bushes to photograph the moment. Of course the first words out of Micki's mouth besides "yes" were "wait, are we still getting barbecue for lunch or was that just a set up???" to which Brandon said "yes Micki, don't worry, we're still getting food." They enjoyed some time together at their spot before spreading the exciting news to family and friends. Later that day, Brandon and Micki celebrated their engagement over dinner in downtown Denver followed by a surprise celebration with friends at a rooftop bar. The rest is history! #romantzic
