The Chicago marathon takes place on Sunday October 12th, two days after our wedding. As this is a major event in the city, we highly encourage you to book a hotel room through our block(s) as soon as possible, as hotel rooms outside our block are more expensive than usual. The marathon course is very close to the hotel, so if you travel out of Chicago on Sunday, give yourself extra time to get to the airport to accommodate for street closures. If you are running the marathon, let the bride and groom know so we can come cheer you on before we head out on our honeymoon!
Please RSVP by September 5th. If you do not RSVP by this date, we will assume you cannot make it.
We ask that you wear dressy casual attire, like something you might wear on a date! If you have any questions, please text the bride or groom.
We kindly ask that you dress in formal attire to the wedding ceremony and reception. We suggest men wear a suit and women wear a mid-to-floor length dress, jumpsuit, or pantsuit. If you have any questions, please reach out to the bride or groom (the bride is more than happy to discuss outfit choices with you at length).
Our wedding ceremony and our wedding reception will take place at two different locations in Chicago, so we're providing transportation for each leg of the trip. You'll have the option to RSVP for a shuttle seat for any or all of the following trips: - From the Gwen Hotel to wedding ceremony - From the wedding ceremony to the wedding reception, immediately following the end of the ceremony - From the wedding reception to the Gwen Hotel at the end of the night (~11:45 pm) If you RSVP "no" to any of the above transportation options, we recommend that you drive yourself or take an Uber or Lyft to/from each location.
Yes! We are hosting an after party at Pippin's Tavern, a 10 minute walk from the Gwen Hotel. Even if you aren't staying at the Gwen, we recommend taking the shuttle back to the Gwen after the reception so you can easily get to the after party location.
There is limited street parking available at the Church of the Holy Family, so if you choose to drive, please give yourself extra time to find a spot. There is a free parking lot available for guests at the Bridgeport Art Center.
We're so excited to celebrate with you! Plus ones are by invitation only and will be indicated when you RSVP. If you have any questions, please reach out to the bride or groom.
Yes, both the Church of the Holy Family and the Bridgeport Art Center are wheelchair accessible.
We don't have any formal events planned for the day after the wedding, but we'll likely hang out at a local bar or brewery and will spread the word on our location if anyone wants to keep the celebration going. For those visiting from out of town, we recommend that you take advantage of the rest of the weekend and enjoy Chicago!
