We first met in an Econ class during our freshman year at Ohio State. We were lucky enough to sit next to each other in a 700 person lecture hall, thanks to someone in my orientation class who happened to be from Emily's high school. The butterflies immediately set in for me upon meeting her. Too nervous to pursue anything beyond class, our friendship soon developed outside of the lecture hall when both of our friend groups became close. Weekday nights on the sand volleyball courts didn't do much to impress Emily and her crew with my athletic prowess, but we started to spend time together as friends consistently. Throughout our undergrad years, we shared many memorable times, but once we graduated we never lost touch and didn't want to. Post-college, we spent enough time together at reunions with friends that we realized there was a much stronger connection between us. After a weekend of watching Ohio State beat Michigan State in East Lansing, I nervously asked her to be my girlfriend and realized we were now about to jump into the long distance game out of the gate. We made the distance feel shorter by regular weekends at one of our places in Detroit or Ohio. Before long, 2 years passed and my plan to move back to Columbus was expedited by our desire to be in the same city together. Fast forward to 2022 and we're in the same city, ready to make it official and spend the rest of our lives together!
