Like many modern love stories, ours began in the most classic way of all — online. What started as a simple exchange quickly became something special, and before we knew it, we were meeting for our first date in German Village. We shared lunch at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus, wandered through Schmidt’s Fudge Haus for something sweet, and ended the afternoon with a walk around Schiller Park, where he may or may not have tried to push her into a pond. A year later, we celebrated our first anniversary with a trip to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. We did all the classic tourist things — boat tours, scenic views, and plenty of laughs — before discovering that the Falls sparkle with fireworks every night. After dinner, we wandered through a charming little garden theater, searching for the perfect spot to watch the show. We ended up by a quiet pond (fitting, right?), where she jokingly tried to push him in this time — but instead, he stepped back, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. What began as a simple spark has grown into the most beautiful journey. We couldn’t have wished for a better person to fall in love with, and we’re so excited to begin this next chapter surrounded by the people who have supported, guided, and celebrated with us along the way.
