From the beginning days at Providence College in 2011, we became part of the same group of friends. Our friends did everything together- from eating meals around the same table in Ray, listening to Matt put his own guitar twist on Matchbox Twenty and spending every minute together in McDermott Hall. When the summer came, Matt promised our friends that he would have us to his family's Cape house. On this trip, we ventured to the Wellfleet drive-in, Provincetown and Michelle's first trip on Matt's beloved Tanqueray. After that weekend, Michelle went back to working at camp and Matt began texting Michelle daily between cleaning toilets and slinging baggage on the Hi-Line ferry to Martha's Vineyard. On move-in day Sophomore year in 2012, we will always remember seeing countless peoples' faces drop when they were told that we were dating. From then on, the next few years flew by in a blur. We played on intramural teams together, visited Ireland and England during Michelle's semester abroad and ended our tenure at PC by attending all of our senior events and graduation as a couple. After our PC years, we continued long-distance as Michelle went on to grad school to work to become a teacher while Matt followed his goals in serving as an EMT. Matt got to know Michelle's love of Disney trips, Woodloch vacations and learning he will always be second fiddle to their dog, Winnie. The next few years were rough as Matt never gave up in his search towards ultimately training to be a police officer, before being accepted into the Providence Police Training Academy. As Michelle stacked degrees like pancakes (as Matt likes to put it) and began her teaching career at Cider Mill, Matt established himself as a Providence Police Officer. We are now so excited to finally begin building our lives together in Rhode Island (yay to no more long-distance!) surrounded by the loving support of our family and friends.
