One click. One little click to "connect" was all it took. It started with an app: Coffee Meets Bagel. Michelle was coerced into creating a profile; Chris created one on the rebound. Chris would be quick to point out that we were each others' FREE bagels. And if you know anything about Michelle, you'd know how having someone who loves that word as much as she does means a lot. Michelle and Chris' first date was a lunch date since they worked a block away from each other. It wasn't exactly love at first sight. As soon as they saw each other, they were faced with the realities of online/app dating. Unbeknownst to Michelle, Chris had braces (and would for the next 2 years!). Surprising to Chris, Michelle was not strikingly tan like her pictures. Chris gave Michelle a handshake. But beyond the world's most awkward and endearing lunch (Michelle chooses to believe Chris was terrified of her the entire time), there was something that clicked. Fast forward through three weeks of dating and Chris asked Michelle to be his girlfriend. The rest is history. Over the next few years, Chris and Michelle continued to grow together, both in their relationship and as individuals. They saw each other through promotions and new jobs. They traveled the world together. They became a part of each others' families. They've seen each other through times of sorrow, and have supported each other and lifted each other up through times of hardship. Their love and respect for each other has carried them through life's up and downs and will continue to for the years to come. In March 2018, Chris and Michelle purchased their first home together. A month later, they adopted their baby beagle, Bo. And eight months later, they got engaged. It's been a wild, fast, crazy ride, but one filled with so much happiness, triumph, optimism, and love. We can't wait to begin the next chapter.
