Popcorn. That is how this all started. Michelle loves it and Supriyo can't stand it. Yet, it is the food that connected us. On March 22, 2020, one week after we were both sent home from work to quarantine indefinitely, our conversation began online, with Michelle asking how it could be that Supriyo does not eat it. This grew into a month-long courtship of text conversations and eventually talks on the phone. On the same day we were sent home, all restaurants closed for business, and leaving the house was restricted to shopping for groceries. Meeting in person seemed to be impossible. But so necessary. But forbidden - unless we broke the rules, which of course we did.
