We are getting married!!

As I was helping plan Shaeye’s 50th birthday celebration cruise, she, her best friends and family were helping her plan the proposal heard around Carnivals ship The Magic. On Shaeye’s actual birthday, Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, family and friends joined us on board the Carnival ship, the Magic. As we were all enjoying the sail away party on the main deck, the DJ is playing music and the cruise director is hyping up the crowd and all the guests are just having a great time. People are dancing, singing, laughing and doing what the cruise director asks of them. At one point Shaeye had left my side and walked towards where the cruise director is standing and speaking, and he then looks at her and says, “This is the moment you’ve been waiting for” and hands Shaeye the microphone. She then grabbed the microphone, and while pacing back and forth nervously, she asked for me to come forward. At this moment, I instantly became nervous because I wasn’t sure what she was doing and why she would call for me to join her. While I’m walking towards her, I just thinking, I’m not going to dance nor sing, Lol… She then began saying how much she loves me and how when we met, we instantly became best friends. The crowd is now aware of what is about to happen and begin to scream and just go wild. And now she begins to look for something in her pocket, she then got down on one knee and asked me “Will you marry me?” in front of hundreds of people on this cruise. I was in total shock and almost speechless. As I am looking at her, I can hear all the screams and everyone just celebrating. The cruise director then grabs the microphone and points it at me, and I of course said Yes! Everyone just goes insane screaming and celebrating our engagement! It was by far one of the happiest and amazing days in my life! For those that do not know, Shaeye is a very private person and for her to choose to propose to me in front of hundreds of people, and even more, in front of people none of us knew, was a huge thing for her. It was definitely a beautiful and very special proposal which will forever be an unforgettable day for me, and for us! But now, the best day is yet to come, where we can finally celebrate our love alongside our loved ones as we say I Do!
