It all started with a simple like of a picture on a dating app called HER. Sarah was the first to like a picture and Michelle started the conversation with "Thanks for the like". After a month of texting each other and getting to know more about one and other, they went on their first date; lunch at the Rain forest cafe at Downtown Disney. What was just supposed to be a lunch date, turned out to be an eleven hour date of just talking and walking throughout Downtown Disney. You can say that Disney made their dream come true. They ended their date on the top of the Disney California Grand Hotel, which is where Michelle would later propose to Sarah.
With the help of friends and family the proposal turned out to be beautiful. The story line was that they were going to meet at the The Grand California Hotel in Downtown Disney (where they spent most of their first date and had their first kiss) for Liv's "Surprise Birthday Dinner". Michelle was able to make an excuse to meet Sarah at the hotel and Sarah was going to arrive with friends Stephanie and Quique. Close friends and family were placed throughout the hotel's lobby with lyrics from Kelly Clarkson's "Heart Beat Song" each holding a pink rose. When Sarah arrived, Liv and Dulce were the first to read the lyrics and give her the rose. After the fact Sarah admitted she had no idea what was going on initially because her mindset was on celebrating her friend's birthday. Numerous family members and dear friends to both were stationed throughout the hotel lobby and on the floor where the balcony was. Michelle was even able to coordinate having Sarah's best friend Jason from San Diego come up for the evening, who was the last person she encountered before walking out onto the balcony of the California Grand Hotel where Michelle and Sarah had had their first kiss. Sarah was then lovingly greeted by Michelle's mom and dad (who accidentlly smacked Sarah in the face with a sunflower he was holding in his teeth), as well as Michelle's beloved godmother and Aunt Nora. Sarah sat in front of this large crowd of 30 people and waited patiently as a friend played Heartbeat Song on her guitar and sang. Michelle finally appeared and instructed Sarah to read the letter that she had been handed. Michelle doesn't like really corny and overused lines and so instead of the traditional "Will you marry me?" she pulled out a line from Sarah's favorite movie Princess Bride and she knelt in front of Sarah and said "As You Wish" just as she had done instead of saying "I love you" for the first time. Sarah, too surprised to say anything just kissed Michelle before thinking to say YES!
