How We Met

2/2/2014 Superbowl Sunday, Love Wins

We met on our friend Mike Boyer's couch, Super Bowl Sunday, sharing a plate of BBQ ribs and pulled pork. Ryan leaned in with his elbow against my thigh (fresh as ever!) and told me he wanted to grill out for me by his pool one night, but never asked for my number. He found out that we worked together at Brown & Brown and decided to email me the next day...I freaked! It was my 2nd week in a new office and a new city, all I could think was "this guy is going to get me fired!" I told Veronica (co-worker, friend, bridesmaid), if he wants to take me out he can stop by my cube and ask for my number, so he did. After a few sushi rolls and several shots of sake, we shared our first kiss and here we are 4 years later saying "I do," to a lifetime together.

The Proposal

4/22/2016 The Standard Surprise

Leading up to my 30th birthday weekend, Ryan supposedly planned a party with friends at my favorite local hotel in Miami Beach, The Standard. He insisted that I go to the spa for a facial and some R&R, but after a few froze's I really wanted to stay poolside with him. He was VERY persistent and told me that we would lose a BIG chunk of change if I didn't go, so I gave in. Little did I know, he was back at our room sprinkling 400 long stem roses on the patio, with a much different surprise in mind. After my spa treatment, the woman kept chatting and offering me free products, which was strange because nothing there is ever FREE! I left in my spa robe, no make-up on and went running through the garden with my tray of spa goodies, excited to get back to the room and tell Ry that I had gotten something for free! I opened the curtain to the patio and found him there surrounded by hundreds of flowers, candles, pictures of us hanging over a tub filled with rose petals and a little box in his hand. I stood there, tray in hand, completely shocked! He said "baby, put the tray down, I'm asking you to marry me..." This is the part where I hit the floor, like a fish out of water, crying tears of happiness and excitement. After a few minutes, he said "you haven't said yes yet..." I screamed YES, YES, YES, I will marry you! We're so excited to spend the next chapter of our lives with you! See you in Miami!
