We met seven years ago at a get together that my roommate was throwing. As soon as he and his friend walked in, we stared talking right off the bat in the kitchen and later even paired up to play a game of beer pong! Even though we lost, I am glad he asked for my phone number through the grapevine. Needless to say, we went to a few get togethers and became inseparable! He eventually asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend on Halloween while he was dressed up in my giant full body chicken costume...and I said yes! You might be wondering why we picked a very soon date of April 19th. We have been planning on this day for over quite a while (over a year now!) since it is a very special day of a very special lady that cannot be with us. We are celebrating Rj's Maw Maw by holding the wedding on her birthday. Although she won't physically be there, we wanted to honor her in this way.
Family and friends, Due to the recent virus outbreak, RJ and I have made the tough decision to postpone our wedding originally set for this April 2020. We both feel it is important that everyone practices social distancing during this time and we dont want to be the reason for any sicknesses spreading amongst those we love. We also are taking the precaution due to me falling into the "high risk" category with our first pregnancy. We hope to shoot for June 2020 but will revisit when the Washington lockdown has completed. Thank you for understanding!!! ❤
It is with our biggest regrets that the time has come for us to make the decision, in light of everyone's health, to not hold a big ceremony for our wedding. As much as we would love to see everyone come together and some meet for the first time to celebrate our big day in the works for a while now, Rj and I both want everyone to stay happy and healthy. We hope you all understand that this is the best option for you and for us. We have decided that June 6th will be the day that we sign the papers which was Rj's mom's birthday- we wanted to choose a day that had value to us rather than pick a date that had no meaning. We are planning on having a very small ceremony in our back yard still with a nice dinner to follow with only our witnesses and the family members that are closest in location to us. We hope to hold a BBQ or something to follow within the summer months to celebrate our marriage, but we are very much playing it by ear with what the virus does to our state within the next few weeks once Washington starts opening up. We appreciate your understanding and hope that everyone stays as healthy as possible!
