In the small town of Fredericksburg, Virginia, just one month after Raphael moved to the area he came across a short, spunky female that would change his life forever. Raphael was out with one of his good friends to watch some sports at a local bar. Michelle was out with friends at the same bar. Both living the single life and enjoying the weekend. Raphael noticed Michelle leaving the bar at the end of the night. After several attempts to get her attention, Michelle finally stopped and turned around to acknowledge the attempts. Raphael's first line to Michelle was, "Im not from here, are there any other places to go at this time?" Michelle of course stated, "food is the only thing open now, there is a great pizza place around the corner, Benny's." The conversation continued between Raphael, his friend and Michelle. Raphael asked for Michelle's number before she left to go home for the night. Michelle, without hesitation, gave her number to Raphael. Both left that night not expecting much to come from the 2am conversation, but little did they know this was the start of the rest of their lives....

On the exact day of the one year anniversary of the first day they met, Raphael planned to propose to Michelle. They had scheduled a trip out of town the next day for their anniversary. Raphael planned with Michelle's parents to have a breakfast at their house and propose. It was a quiet Sunday morning before church. Michelle and Raphael went to Michelle's parents house for breakfast. Raphael asked to say the prayer before eating and during that he turned to Michelle and brought out the ring. Raphael got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be his wife. Michelle of course said yes!!
