Formal, black tie optional (suit and tie and dresses) Semi-formal (suit and tie and cocktail dresses) Here's your fun excuse to unearth your smart-looking garb because we're getting snazzed-up and looking good!
We're not going to give you the play-by-play, or historical evidence with pictures of used napkins from our favorite lowly-lit restaurant where we sat and talked for hours on end. Or the trials Michelle put Matt through in what she calls the "testing" stages of the relationship (although, so many edge-of-your-seat moments there). What we truly want is for YOU to be a part of our celebration. Because, after all – "Ecclesiastes assures us that there is a time to every purpose under heaven. A time to laugh. A time to weep. A time to mourn. And there is a time to dance... This is our time to dance." And if you get that reference, you just may be as old as we are.
Come just for the wedding or take a weekend to enjoy Lake Lure with friends and family. Lake Lure is one of our favorite places. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake Lure is just about 27 miles (about a 45-minute drive) from Asheville. It's also been the location for movies like Dirty Dancing, Forrest Gump, The Last of the Mohicans and more. We kick off the weekend on Friday with an evening wedding with music and dancing overlooking the lake. You'll have lots of options for Saturday, like kayaking, hiking, or spending the day in Asheville. If you choose to stay at the lake, join us on Saturday night for a bonfire on the beach. (We'll update the "Schedule" tab at the top of the page with more details soon.)
