Mark, having grown up in Colorado Springs, moved to Denver for music opportunities in 2008. Michelle, having also grown up in Colorado Springs, moved to Denver for music in 2011. She saw him for the first time at Englewood's Moe's Barbecue, a local hub for punk shows. As he took the stage to perform with his ska punk band, she knew she needed to be a part of whatever community these musicians were creating. Michelle had embroidered patches she was passing out that evening as she introduced herself to strangers-soon-friends, and after his set she made a point to stop Mark. Her charisma made an impression on him and he wasted no time sewing the patch to his favorite bag. There it remained for the next 7 years, until the two crossed paths at Moe's again and got to talking about making music together. Artistic partnership grew into friendship and blossomed into love in 2018, and Mark and Michelle have been together ever since <3
Born in 1987 to Carol and Brian Swan, Mark grew up shy and inquisitive. He has fond memories of a backyard swing, a love of dinosaurs, and a friendship with their family Dachshund. He found the joy of music through an old piano his father brought home, and a deep fascination with visual storytelling through childhood shows like The Muppets. At Mitchell High School he learned to love music and literature. Heading to Denver as a young adult, he found success with his ska punk band The A-OK's. As they recorded multiple albums and performed on multiple national tours, Mark worked in dining at University of Denver until he reached Kitchen Management, and later Human Resources. Following the retirement of the band, Mark returned to writing with a book of poetry, The Book of Many Little Things. Michelle entered Mark's life as he began to imagine a better line of work, and soon after he enrolled into Colorado Media School. He began to create videos and podcasts on freelance and for fun, and kept making media after graduating during the COVID-19 quarantine. His experiences in HR and fascination with mythology and fantasy led to his use of pandemic free time to write his first full novel, Death and Human Resources. As work emerged for media professionals in 2021 -2022, Mark found himself operating cameras at PBS-12 and Levitt Pavillion, and producing a local reality webseries Not Just a Haircut. After finding camera work at Mile Hi Church, Mark is now an essential talent to the production team as he can lend his talents to lighting, video switching, or technical direction. As the achievement of a long time goal, Mark entered radio broadcasting with Total Traffic Network, and now can also be heard as radio personality Swanny on Denver's KTCL Channel 93.3. Mark is looking forward to making more music, and movies, and podcasts, and memories with Michelle and his friends.
Born in 1993 to Tina Solis and Wayne Bailey, Michelle has always been high energy and curious. From early childhood Michelle has thrived in the spotlight, loving to sing a song or be in front of the camera. In addition to theater and music dedication through her time at St Mary's High School, Michelle played multiple sports and studied Spanish and French to fluency. She graduated from Regis University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2015, when she began to work as a lifeguard. Soon she was teaching parent-tot swimming classes with nursery songs, leading aqua aerobics classes, coaching swimming, and training to be a music teacher. In 2013 she began her work instructing modern rock with Girls Rock Denver, and still teaches with them every summer. Michelle discovered her love for preschool music circle lessons in 2017, and now continues to teach and direct the Music Languages program at Mile Hi Children's Enrichment Center. Having worked as a wedding dj since 2021 has made the wedding planning a smooth journey for Michelle, and harnessed all her performance and AV technical skills. Michelle has played piano, guitar, and sang harmony vocals in multiple bands since living in Denver; she currently does so with Katiria y Las Villanas. She is joined by Mark and their friend Tim in their off-the-wall trio Pretty. Loud., where they joke and howl with artistic abandon. Michelle is looking forward to celebrating with all the wedding guests, taking a solid honeymoon with Mark, and cultivating a home of music and creativity for them to share.
