How We Met

First came a match, now comes a marriage.

In January 2021, in the most modern way possible, our hearts found each other on the dating app, Bumble. What started as a swipe turned into something neither of us expected — the beginning of forever. From the very first conversation, there was something different. We both knew we liked each other immediately… but of course, we were shy about it. You know, the kind of shy where you pretend to be cool but secretly reread every message five times before hitting send. Months passed, and in July 2021, Kolten decided it was time to make a real move. He invited Michelle to Waco to finally meet in person. Bold? Yes. Risky? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely. From the moment we saw each other, it was clear — this wasn’t just another date. There was an undeniable connection. The kind that makes it hard to say goodbye. The kind that makes you replay every laugh, every smile, every little moment. The first date? A true love story classic: Domino’s pizza. Pepperoni and bacon. No five-star restaurant needed — just two people who couldn’t stop smiling at each other over a cardboard pizza box. And honestly, if you can fall in love over Domino’s, you know it’s real. On October 10th, 2021, we officially started dating. A date that would later become even more meaningful. Somewhere between the pizza nights, the long conversations in the car to East, Texas, numerous hours in the deer stands, the shared laughter, and the moments when being apart just didn’t feel right — we both knew. This was it. This was our person. Not because everything was perfect, but because being together felt like home. Fast forward four years to October 10th, 2025 — our anniversary. Most couples celebrate with dinner. Maybe flowers. Michelle? She chose tandem skydiving. Because nothing says “I love you forever” like jumping out of a plane together. After surviving that adrenaline rush (which is truly a solid relationship test), Kolten casually suggested they have a picnic at the Dallas Arboretum. Just a sweet, peaceful way to end an already unforgettable day. After their picnic, Kolten told Michelle to go read a sign “over there” while he got something ready. Michelle, completely unsuspecting, walked over. When she came back… Kolten was on one knee. In the middle of one of the most beautiful places in Dallas, after jumping out of an airplane together, the shy guy from Bumble asked the girl who felt like home to be his forever. And of course — Michelle said yes. From a swipe in January… To Domino’s in July… To skydiving and a picnic proposal years later… Their love story proves that sometimes the greatest adventures begin with something simple — a swipe, a pizza, a leap of faith. And the rest? Well… the rest is history.
