Matron of Honor
I was an only child, until Jenny rudely interrupted what I had going on. We have done everything together. No one knows me better. She has seen every accomplishment, heart break, triumph and defeat. Being much more than a sister, I have always admired and valued her opinion, even if she was my little sister. I have always respected her faith in humanity, and the way that she finds redeeming qualities in everyone. Also, the only person that I have gotten into fist fights with. Don't worry...I won. My first friend, and my best friend. She's been all up in my mix, since 1986!
Bridesmaid
Picture it, fall 2001, two 18 year olds wearing crop tops and living on $18 a week. Kari and I met in 2001, our freshman year at Emporia State University. We have been inseparable ever since. More than just best friends, Kari is more like a sister. At this point, there are just too many secrets between us for us to ever stop being friends!!
Bridesmaid
My baby nugget!!! Kitty and I are 11 years apart, and you would never know it. One of my most trusted voices in advice. Her judgment and level head is critical in my life. She is a constant reminder that you can always do more, strive for more, and impress everyone. Adorable when she was born. Gorgeous as an adult. Sassy all the way through.
Bridesmaid
The "SWEETEST" person you've ever met. Alison and I met when we lived in Innes Station in the summer of 2016. Being both teachers we bonded over our ability and desire to have cocktails at noon on a Tuesday in July. Living in the same building, Alison has become a very important part of my life. Someone that I can turn to when I need advice or just to vent. Understanding both the stresses of being a teacher and always failing at dieting, is a unique combination. Basically, the coolest History Teachers of ever...
Best Man
Chris is Jon's younger bigger brother. For reasons that can not be expressed here, to this day, Jon and Chris are not permitted to enter Club Rodeo. Chris and Jon have been through a lot together. They have seen the best and worst in each other. They have also been able to count on each other in a way that they don't anyone else.
Groomsman
Ian and Jon met when they both lived at Innes Station apartments in 2017. Their relationship was cemented when Ian rescued Michelle's birthday party. After the 3rd noise complaint from Michelle's raucous 34th birthday. It was decided that they should perhaps just cancel the party as the neighbor next door had a clear aversion to happiness. At that point, Ian donated his dad's beautifully furnished and vacant apartment as a alternative location. At that moment Jon realized, this is someone who needs to be in my life forever.
Groomsman
Jon and Shuey met in the significant and deep way that most friendships blossom, running around the bar scene in Old Town. Jon and Shuey bonded over their capacity to alienate everyone else in the room with their discussions of electrical engineering. It's not often that you find someone who you can converse audio frequencies and also go shot for shot of Fireball with.
Groomsman
Juan, AKA Brown Jon, is Jon's best friend. They met in 2012, through a mutual friend. Juan and Jon became best friends when they realized that no one else would want to hang with the two of them as much as each other. They are the two loudest people they know. They are also the two most outgoing people they know. So it makes sense. Jon was especially touched when Juan visited his native Nicaragua and brought him a painting that can only be described as..."gross and why?"
Officiant
Todd is the officiant extraordinaire. Not only one of Jon's best friends, but also conveniently ordained. Jon met Todd at a New Year's Eve party in 2016. Jon was enamored by Todd's pancake tattoos. The two bonded over a shared love of craft beers, beards, and all things hipster. Also, being continuously mistaken for brothers has helped cement this friendship.
