Nope! Per the US Embassy in Jamaica and the Jamaica Tourist Board, testing is not required for travel to Jamaica.
We have covered everyone's roundtrip transfer between MBJ and the resort. Shortly before your departure, you will receive a confirmation with directions for when you land. We have provided the transfer company with your flight details; they will pay close attention to any delays and plan accordingly.
Check In: 3PM Check Out: 11AM The front desk will hold your bags and you can still use the resort amenities (restaurants/pools/etc) if you arrive earlier than check in or leave later than check out
We will be there during peak season for the area, so hopefully that means lots of warm, sunny days! The average high is about 83 degrees and the average low is 73 degrees. February and March are also Jamaica's driest months with the least amount of rainfall. The ocean temperature is around 81 °F and the wind is calm.
Beachy garden party - resort cocktail - fancy date night Men: Ties, suits, sportcoats, etc. not required. Please no shorts or sandals. (the groomsmen will be in khakis, a white button down, suspenders, and brown shoes) Women: The ceremony is outside but not in the sand, so you can wear heels if you'd like. (the bridesmaids will be in mismatched floral sundresses) If you need some inspiration, check out the Pinterest board at the following link: https://www.pinterest.com/meankerholtz/always-and-forever-3/guest-attire/
All guests (including the children) are invited to the semi-private dinner hosted at one of the resort restaurants. You are NOT required to attend the ceremony run-through prior to dinner (unless your participating partner/parent says you do - we can't help ya there).
We would like the actual ceremony to be "unplugged" and ask you keep all electronic devices silenced and put away. Pictures are encouraged at every other point in the day! Our wedding hashtag for social media is #hiyatotheczajas
Yes! You can download the Iberostar app to make requests from reception (once you've checked in), check out the bars and restaurants including their menus, hours, and dress codes, find their activities calendar and an interactive map of the resort.
Yes. Most are "casual: shirts with sleeves, bermuda shorts and shoes or sandals". The steakhouse (Brave) requires a more formal look "sleeved shirts or polo shirts, long pants, dress sandals or shoes"
We're an iPhone family so iMessage will work over the resort's WIFI. In addition, we both have WhatsApp and suggest our guests download it as well to communicate.
Please plan on tipping wait staff/bartenders/etc while at the resort. They accept USD or have a currency exchange at the front desk.
