While we understand how amazing it is to start a family, we are kindly asking that only adults attend our wedding Entendemos lo hermoso que es empezar un familia, pero por favor nuestra boda sera solo de adultos.
Please arrive promptly at 4:30 PM as the ceremony will begin at that time. Por favor llegar puntualmente a las 4:30 PM ya que la ceremonia comenzara a esa hora.
Our recommendation would be to walk as it would be easiest but if not, Uber works as well. Recomendamos caminar al lugar del evento si es posible, si no Uber esta bien.
There are hundreds of boutique hotels depending on your preferences and price range. We added some of our recommendations on the Travel tab. If none of those work, we recommend our guests to stay anywhere within the "Walled City" (also known as "Centro" or "Ciudad Amurallada" it got that nickname as there is a huge fort built around the city as protection from pirates) which is the main downtown area of Cartagena and that will give you the best experience. For larger groups, there are also plenty of Airbnb options. Please note that Getsemani is not part of the "Walled City" which is a bit trendier, hipper, younger; we do not suggest staying here unless you speak Spanish or are familiar with the area. Bocagrande is the (the southern tip peninsula of Cartagena) that has large buildings and skyscrapers, there are plenty of bigger and more affordable here like the The InterContinental Hotel however, keep in mind that you will need to Uber to get to the "Walled City" and back (15min each way from that hotel), and it really takes away from the quaint romantic experience of Cartagena (trust us!)
Cartagena is the #1 biggest tourist destination in Colombia as well as very popular in South America. It has colonial architecture feel of cobblestone streets, beautifully pastel painted houses and a picturesque romantic city to spend a lovely weekend getaway Due to the heavy tourism here, Cartagena is an extremely safe city. The streets are patrolled by police and generally people are very nice and hospitable. You can feel safe walking around but be mindful of not being alone by yourself at night. We recommend using Uber to get around. Note - given the tourism, there are street vendors who will try to sell you local goods and they are abundant as you walk through the city but the simple "no gracias" will go a long way
Although Cartagena is very touristic city, the main currency is Colombian Pesos but in all places they accept credits cards (and in some apple pay). If you plan to buy anything on the street (snacks, fresh coconut water, empanadas, souvenirs etc), you will need Colombian Pesos
