Michelle moved to Chicago in search of life in a big city in 2016. She took a job at a small ortho practice on the south side of Chicago where she met, you guessed it, the love of her life, Jeff, who had moved to the city about a year prior. Being new to the city, Michelle didn't know many people outside of her new roomies and work crew. One fine day, in the hallway before seeing one of the 862 patients of the day, Jeff very romantically stated, "I have a few GFs from PA school that live here. We should all get drinks Friday! They're blonde just like you and I think you'll love them!" (Yes- at the time Michelle was still in her bleach blonde phase). Ironically, those blonde friends were busy, but Michelle and Jeff went anyway and realized how much they had in common. Over the next few months and several shots of Malort later, Michelle and Jeff realized that yes- they were in fact dating. Which brings us to the year 2020. Fast forward through a move out of and then back into Chicago within a year, 5 jobs, adopting a Dog-ter named Ceci, and likely several more shots of Malort. Jeff and Michelle's love continued to build over the years. They enjoyed exploring new breweries, traveling, and both became obsessed with sailing/racing sailboats/looking at boats craigslist/etc. With no pressure from Michelle (anyone's who's been around us the past year is definitely LOLing), Jeff was ready to ask a very important question. Jeff had a plan to ask Michelle to marry him while on a beautiful hike before arriving for their annual friends weekend, however Michelle made him leave after 13 minutes because she wasn't wearing the right shoes. After arriving at their rental house, in the most magical driveway on the planet, Jeff asked Michelle if she would marry him, and she said HELL YES! *Full disclaimer- both of those "blonde friends" also became two of Michelle's best friends (be sure to give a special thanks to Bridesmaid Alecia if you see her for her part in this marriage).
