It all started when Michelle met Jeffrey at a park. It was 80 degrees out that day and apparently too hot to care about looking nice. Michelle walked up to Jeffrey in a cute denim tank top and white shorts with heart shaped sunglasses. She was met by Jeffrey who was wearing a hand made cutoff with basketball shorts, plastic American flag colored slide on sandals and his sunglasses backwards tucked behind his ears. What can we say, it was love at first sight!! (It was a miracle he got a second date - he must have been charming)

It was 90% humidity and raining outside in Madison, WI. Not the best weather for a beautiful engagement. Jeffrey, being as he is, wanted nothing more than to do things his way (Michelle can’t always get what she wants). Despite Michelle saying she never wanted to get engaged at a restaurant and despite Michelle not wanting their entire families present to witness, Jeffrey proceeded with his plans and asked Michelle to marry him outside of the Tornado room. He was so worried about pronouncing her last name that he forgot everything he wanted to say except “Will you marry me?”. Don’t worry folks, Michelle had a feeling it was coming and had some fun herself. An hour before while Jeffrey was trying to make her change into nicer clothing, she asked, “What - are you going to ask me to marry you?!?” She also asked right before it happened why Brett was taking a video. While maybe not the proposal of the year it is a moment we will be able to remember forever.
