We first met at Main Event when we were both 20 years old. Devin worked at the Bowl Desk and I worked at the Games area. Devin would occasionally get some Game shifts and we worked a shift together one day. He was really social and cocky so he approached me and another co-worker. He was making jokes trying to make us laugh. He was not funny. Just kidding haha. I chucked a bit I guess! After that, we’d see each other around the building and would chat here and there. We ended up going to Six Flags with a group of co-workers. It was my first time and Devin rode ALL the rides with me. He even won be a Bulbasaur from one of the carnival games. After that, we started to hang out after work and became good friends!
I’ll never forget our first. We went to a movie, IT Chapter One. She has always loved scary movies. I’ve never really cared for scary movie but went just for her. You would think a movie is a bad first date because you can’t really talk but you would be wrong. I talked to her the whole movie and made a lot of jokes. Some she even laughed at. I thought the date went great but she might have had a different opinion since she didn’t want to get Whataburger with me after! However that didn’t stop me from asking her out again and the rest is history.
I knew when I was going to propose over a year in advance. We were already planning to go to Hawaii for my brother’s graduation and there’s no better place than Hawaii to get proposed too. It took a lot of planning and hiding stuff from Michelle which was the hardest part. Luckily both of our moms helped me out a lot with the planning of the proposal. The day finally came and we told everyone to wear all white for "family pictures". My mom's friend April left a few hours earlier to set up while we all got ready for the family pictures. The day we chose was Memorial day so the beaches were packed…. However we were still able to find a nice spot to do the proposal. Then the time came. I wasn't nervous until I saw her coming. She was so beautiful. The instance I saw her I started crying. My script I had prepared disappeared. I could barely get the words out from behind all the tears but it didn't matter because she said yes!
