We met during trivia night at Buddy's Bites & Brews in 2013. We didn't talk to each other at first but we both knew other members on each other's teams. We both continued to attend Buddy's trivia on opposing teams. Finally in 2018, after seeing each other at trivia nearly every week, we started dating. Carlos believes that we actually met way before that, when he was at Hayward High for a wrestling competition in 1996. He remembers running into a girl he went to grade school with and she was there with 2 friends. That girl was my good friend from high school and we think that me and our other friend were the two other people with her. Coincidentally, I also worked at day camp in high school with one of his current friends. Knowing that we have these connections and people in common has always felt special to us. -Michelle

Anyone that knows me knows that I love Disneyland. Carlos is not a fan like I am, but he likes Nightmare Before Christmas and I really wanted to take him to Disneyland to experience the holiday decorations, especially Holiday Haunted Mansion. The week after Thanksgiving 2022 we finally made it to Disneyland along with a few of our good friends and their families. I thought it was just a normal Disneyland trip, but our first morning in the park Carlos surprised me by proposing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Apparently everyone in our group knew what was happening except me. It was the greatest surprise he could've given me. What better place to start our happily ever after.
