To pass the time on her flight home from Spain, Michelle decided to peruse the dating apps. She stumbled upon the Hinge profile of a guy who potentially loved to travel as much as she did, used to Irish Dance like she did, or liked to deep sea fish (unlike her). Hoping it was the former options, Michelle decided to take a guess on Bryan’s two truths and lie by messaging him that she hoped he had a past life as an Irish Dancer. After his own European adventure coincidentially landed back home on the same night, Bryan received her message and, in fact, was the dancer and traveler Michelle was hoping for. After a brief recovery from jet lag, the two met for their first date at La Josie and the rest was history.
Bryan’s nerves were tested the week leading up to the proposal as constant rain and gray skies threatened his weather dependent plan. But when the day arrived, the skies cleared for what was a warm and sunny Chicago day making way for a proposal on the Chicago River. Michelle had a small hunch something might happen that day, but after they decided on taking the bus to the dock and the timing was pushed back, Michelle figured otherwise. As they set sail with Nicole, Eric and kids, Bryan waited for Michelle to inevitably ask for a scenic picture of the two of them. After waiting what seemed like hours (~45 min), Michelle finally asked for that picture. At this point, Bryan got down on one knee, to Michelle’s surprise, and asked to spend the rest of their lives together. With champagne in hand and family/friends at their side, Michelle and Bryan celebrated their exciting day.
