Things To Do

Try out some of our favorite things to do and other recommendations in Boston and the surrounding area!

Newbury Street

Newbury Street, Boston, MA

Main shopping street in Boston. Check out all the shops and restaurants.

Public Garden

Boston, MA 02116

Go for a walk in the public garden after strolling down Newbury Street. You can take a Swan Boat ride in the garden as well.

Charles River Esplanade

Storrow Drive, Boston, MA 02116

Our favorite place to go for a run, walk, or casual bike ride. There are a few spots that are great for a picnic as well.

North End Italian District

282 Hanover Street, Boston, MA 02113

A whole neighborhood full of authentic Italian restaurants. Come early or make reservations, it gets busy on the weekends especially. Go to Mike's Pastries for dessert! This is our favorite place to carbo load before a local race or just go out for a delicious dinner.

Paddle Boston: Cambridge, Kendall Square

15 Broad Canal Way, Cambridge, MA 02142

Rent kayaks on the Charles River. A great activity for a nice day.

Central Square

Cambridge, MA 02139

Come check out Alex and Michelle's neighborhood! Our favorite restaurants are Mad Monkfish, Si Cara, Little Donkey, and Viale. For a drink, try Brick & Mortar. For ice cream, try New City Microcreamery--we make weekly visits here, but Toscanini's next door is also great.

Freedom Trail

Freedom Trail, Boston, MA

Walk the 2.5 mile long freedom trail through Boston that passes by 16 locations significant to US history

Faneuil Hall Marketplace

Boston, MA 02109

A foodhall with many tasty options! Try Boston Chowda Co for some New England clam chowder.

Wingaersheek Beach

Gloucester, MA 01930

Great beach 30 min away from the DoubleTree! You may want to make reservations for parking.

Provincetown

Provincetown, MA

Looking for a day trip outside of Boston? Take the ferry to Provincetown, a fun town on the end of Cape Cod. The fast ferry takes around 1.5 hours to get there.

Mount Monadnock Hike

Jaffrey, NH 03452

This is one of our favorite hikes that is a short drive from the city (less than 2 hours). The hike is a little over 4 miles round trip and an intermediate level. We usually do the White Dot/White Cross trail.

Salem Witch Museum

19 1/2 North Washington Square, Salem, MA 01970

Check out the museum or The Witch House for some history on the witch trials.

For all the days along the way
